It's More Than Just The Turkey

So for all of us guys here in the United States, tomorrow is Thanksgiving. This day should be more than just the day before the big sales at the mall!

At this point, I think most people here see the day as a chance to get together with their friends and family, a chance to watch a parade or two, and a chance to eat...eat...eat. And don't forget that this gives us a long weekend off work.

So what are we thankful for? Are we thankful for something? Or is this just another day? Even with all the problems out there in the world and in my own backyard, I try to be thankful for something. Maybe it's the small things in life that I am thankful for, but there are some good things out there in life. For example, I am thankful for:

• Getting together with family. Now not all of us get along all the time, but it is good to see everyone now and then.

• Having sometime to kick back and relax. The long weekend is good as it allows everyone time to relax, even the relatives visiting from out of town.

• Having a good meal. This may sound silly, but I do like the opportunity to "pig out" every now and then. Most of the time, I try to watch what I eat, but not this weekend. Yes, I will be working off the holiday season for a few weeks, but that is okay.

• Being able to be myself. This includes being able to wear my Speedos, and sometimes lycra, when I choose and where I choose. My comfort in wearing brief swimsuits has more to do with me than it does with what other people may think.

• A website like the Speedo Board, where most guys are great! It is good to have a place to share with guys who have a common interest. I like basketball, so I get together with other guys who like basketball. I like to wear Speedos, so I like to participate here on the Speedo Board.

• I am also thankful that the weather here is still warm. It's a long weekend too. So that means I will probably get in some Speedo time at the beach. Even though there are some relatives from out of town staying here for a few days, two of them are into running like me so probably Friday morning and Saturday morning, we will do a run along the beach. It won't be crowded since many people will be crowding the malls for the sales.

Where ever you live, here in the United States or elsewhere, I hope you have something you are thankful for. Be it big or small, there is always something there. Have a great Thanksgiving, long weekend, and enjoy whatever you are doing.
