If you read the news or papers like Frontiers, you may have heard that actor George Takei has just announced in public that he is gay. Any of you that are into Star Trek will remember him from the original cast of the show in the late 1960s. Some of you may remember the pictures of him in the 1970s of him on vacation at the beach. Boy oh boy....did he look good in his Speedos! Many a guy cut out those pictures from the magazines and pinned them up on their walls. George really looked great in a Speedo. So what does this have to do with his coming out...and Speedos? Well, if you read the articles talking about him today, you will see that he has finally decided to start living the way he wants to live. Not the way others expect him to live. Now, this is great. The only bad thing here is that it took until he was 68 for him to live his OWN life. Think about how much of his life he can never get back. What opportunities he has missed in all those years. While allot of Speedo guys are straight, they can learn a lesson from this. Actually any guy who is into Speedo swim suits can learn from this. If you like wearing the small, tight, form fitting swim suits, you should wear them. It's all about how your life should be lived. Really, in the big picture of things, what other people think about what you wear or don't wear, has little meaning. What they think is in their minds and that is something they will have to deal with. What you think about yourself is more important. Are you living true to you? If not why? I don't want to get into heavy philosophy, but this really applies to much more than Speedo Swim suits. You should live the live you were meant to live and at the same time respect those who live their lives different than yours. If you are not living the way you want to now, including wearing Speedos when you choose, when are you going to start? Hopefully, you will not have to wait until your are in your 60s like George Takei. Life is too short to wait on someday.
