I used to do allot of traveling for my job. They used to fly me here and there to many cities in the US. Not too much lately which has actually been good. Sure, I loose all those frequent flyer miles, but now I have time to actually have a life outside of the job. I did have a chance to fly last week. It has been a while since I had to deal with the lines and the wait at the airport. It was pretty cool though. Waiting for the plane, I was able to connect with the free wireless Internet access at the airport. That kept me busy while I surfed my favorite sites and answered some emails. I still do not understand why on the plane they give me just a couple bags of honey coated peanuts when I just shelled out $200 for a ticket. And that's for each direction. I guess that airline meals have been slowly phasing out for a while. It's kind of like a "bring your own bagged lunch" flight. But for a total of $400, they should be able to provide at least a $2 sandwich. Maybe all of us passengers should start a revolt or something and demand three bags of peanuts...That will teach them. The flight did turn out okay. The flight crew was really good. I was seated next to a guy who was fun to talk to. We talked and played a few hands of cards. This really does make the flight go much faster. The drive home from the airport was almost as long as the flight itself. Next time, I will be sure to bring along some snacks. Some for me and some to share with the guy next to me who forgot to bring his own. We can't all chew on mints and honey peanuts for three hours.
