New Emerging Water Sport

Some of you guys may already know about this, but I just came across it this week. There is a new water sport that is slowly making it's way around the world.

It is called Underwater Hockey. And that is basically what it is. Two teams play against each other in the pool, trying to get a puck in the opposing team's goal. This all takes place on the bottom of the pool. The players use snorkels and hold their breath as long as they can underwater and then have to come up for more air. They use small hockey sticks, called bats, that are about 12 inches long or so to hit the puck. The puck is weighted so it stays underwater.

It really looks like a fun sport. While this has been going on in other countries for a while already, teams are finally springing up all over here in the US. Most of them at high schools and colleges. Hopefully, this will lead to more guys wearing Speedos and not being too shy about it since they are playing the latest "in" sport.

If you get a chance to try this, be sure you do. I am looking to see if there is a team in my area. It really does look like allot of fun.
