For those of you that are in the United States, you probably celebrated Thanksgiving this week. We had about 28 people over to the house to celebrate this year, including several relatives from out of town who are staying here for the weekend. Normally, I really do watch what I eat and do not go overboard. This year was different. I don't know how much you all had to eat, but put it this way, I had enough for all of us. Since we were such a varied group, we had the traditional turkey, plus fish and shrimp (for those who do not like turkey). All fresh baked. We also had all the typical fixings to go along with the meal. Salads, veggies, sweet potatoes, and more. For dessert, fresh from the oven hot apple pies and chocolate cake. So what did I eat? Some of everything. Much more than I should have. It all was so good that I just had to have some of everything and who can resist warm apple pie just out of the oven? It was all very good. So, it was a good thing that I had already planned to go running on Friday and Saturday mornings with a couple of my relatives. They are avid runners, more so than myself. So we got up kind of early on Friday and headed out to the beach where we ran along the bike path for about four to five miles. Since it was still just a bit cool, I had no problem keeping warm in my N2N tights that I just love. One of the two guys I ran with wore some lycra shorts, and the other wore some very small runners shorts. He must have been cold out there. This morning, we ran through the park. It was about a five mile run and it was great. No one around, just quiet...and birds. It made for a nice run. Just got back and am waiting for my turn in the shower. With people staying over, the two bathrooms get used allot. The relatives are here through tomorrow morning and then I'll take them to the airport so they can head home. Hopefully between now and then, I will not eat too much. I know that I probably ate enough for several days just a that one Thanksgiving meal. Still, we all had a good time. Hope everyone had a good holiday and did not get caught in the hoards of people going to the after-Thanksgiving Day sales.
